  • Drop-in consulting will resume on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1-4PM in the Velma Denning Room (beginning September 27).

  • Workshops begin September 28 and each subsequent Tuesday from 2-4PM (click here for the Workshop Schedule).


We are located in 120 Green Library, inside of the Social Sciences Resources Center.

The Velma Denning Room offers a variety of resources:

  • Popular quantitative (statistical) software, SPSS, SAS, and Stata, and qualitative software, NVivo, are available on the iMac computers. Users can also access a variety of specialty software and ArcGIS for spatial analysis from selected Windows computers.
  • Numeric Data on CD-ROM  are accessible from selected Windows computers. Data are produced by U.S. federal agencies, international organizations, foreign governments and private distributors.  Contact us (data services) with questions about our CD-ROM collection or to request installation of a CD-ROM program. The SSDS CD-ROM collection does not circulate.
  • Users can browse a non-circulating reference library of software manuals and textbooks on statistics.

Public Hours: Open hours for the Velma Denning Room are currently suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Stay tuned for updates.

We are closed: Saturdays, Sundays, Winter Closure, and University Holidays.
