VPTL Technical Systems launches check-out cluster program

[O]ur team has had to quickly adapt to a fast changing world in the last few weeks.  We’ve been doing our best to meet Stanford faculty and students with their academic software needs.  As a result, we have launched the checkout-cluster program that allows users to use the cluster machines remotely for both macOS and Windows.  We’ve also worked with stakeholders and software vendors to open up the use of a subset of VPTL purchased licenses and VPTL hosted license for Stanford affiliat

CIDR Virtual Workshop: Running STATA Remotely on the Farmshare Servers with X Windows

Don’t have Stata installed on your local laptop?  In this workshop, you will learn to run Stata remotely on the Farmshare servers using X-windows, as well as get a basic introduction to using Stata.  X-windows provides the Stata point and click interface (GUI) available on a Windows, Mac, or Linux installed version.  You will also learn to navigate the remote server and securely transfer your data, do, and other Stata files between Farmshare and your local computer.
