Data on CD-ROM & Diskette

Data on CD-ROM

Selected datasets from the SSDS CD-ROM reference collection are available on selected PC workstations in The Velma Denning Room.  Most CD-ROM programs offer instructions for viewing data and extracting results.  Datasets cover a broad range of social science topics and time periods from  U.S. federal agencies, international organizations, national governments and independent producers.  Please contact us should you wish to access a CD-ROM.

Accessing Data on CD-ROM from Computer Workstations

Users can browse  U.S. federal agency CD-ROMs in cabinets located in The Velma Denning Room.  Titles in this collection are filed by the Superindent of Documents (SuDoc) classification system.  All other titles in the SSDS collection are cataloged in Library of Congress (LC) call number format and are available upon request.  Full descriptions of all CD-ROM titles in the SSDS collection can be found via the Library's online catalog SearchWorks.  The location designation is Green Library SSRC-SSDS.

Please contact us with your questions or to request access to titles not installed on our PC workstations.
